Founded in 2013, Bonami started as an online shopping club full of inspiration for your home and office. After five years, it surpassed 1 billion CZK in turnover, evolving from an online club into a full-fledged home furnishing e-shop. Beyond the Czech market, Bonami operates in 11 other countries. In 2024, Bonami opened its first Western European market in Italy. We offer our 3.5 million users tens of thousands of products from over 1,200 global brands. Today, alongside our great e-shop, Bonami has 5 physical stores where you can view and buy products on the spot, order online with our consultants, or pick up e-shop orders. Bonami still maintains its company culture built on openness, responsibility, smarts, and great relationships among the people inside the company.

We started as a shopping club and e-shop with designer furniture and accessories. We've been in the black since our second year, which is rare for an e-commerce company. We are significantly strengthening B2B partnerships and are now a strong omnichannel player in the market. We've built a strong brand and a resilient internal culture. Speed, data, and common sense

As a company, we've grown up and become much more pragmatic. We base our decisions on data, but we haven't lost any of our speed and flexibility. We can be extremely fast in executing good ideas. You don't need to create a 20-slide presentation and call endless meetings. If you want to push an idea, opinion, or change, a simple pitch deck showing you know what you're getting into, what the execution entails, and what its real benefit will be is enough. In practice, it looks like this: you bring something up on Monday, we discuss it on Wednesday, and if it makes sense to everyone, we execute it on Friday. Thanks to common sense, we are just as quick to bury bad ideas, learn from them, and move on.

Don't be afraid to go against the flow

There's a lot of things you can work on here. You'll find plenty of projects to take ownership of, or you can jump into ongoing ones. The result? Zero boredom. We always try to stay a step ahead, follow trends, and above all, listen to our customers. When we realized customers wanted to touch the furniture and test out the sofas, we opened physical stores. After initiating collaborations with designers, we are building a "Designers club." In short, we aren't afraid to dive into things no one else in the market is doing. It's great that our board plays with open cards and sugarcoats nothing. So even when the company goes through tougher times, we hear it firsthand. When big changes come, they always try to explain them and provide broader context. Everyone has the opportunity to ask questions. Publicly, on Slack, or in person during 1-on-1s. You can safely and fearlessly approach anyone in management. A sense of safety and trust is more than essential in today's turbulent times.

Work the way that suits you

Bonami is flexible in giving everyone the space to work in a way that fits them. Naturally, there are boundaries, often defined by team setups, and the baseline is perfectly executed work, happy customers, and a happy team. But we have plenty of room to set up our work according to our preferences. We have set office hours and meet in the office two days a week, because brainstorming and chatting by the coffee machine are still the best ways to move things forward. It's not sugarcoating when we say we can truly agree on anything and accommodate current life situations and conditions. We learn from our mistakes

The key to turning mistakes into growth opportunities is accepting criticism and feedback. This works perfectly at Bonami because we create the opportunities for it. One-on-one chats aren't traditional "boss-evaluating-subordinate" meetings; they serve for mutual information sharing, enrichment, and inspiration. We pass info both top-down and bottom-up. We have no problem telling our boss they messed up, as long as our criticism is constructive and makes sense. Many Bonami projects started from scratch. For instance, our kitchen studio turned out to be much more complex than we thought. We stumble sometimes, but the great thing about Bonami is that we always get to learn from our mistakes.

We have a truly broad assortment featuring the latest trends, but also original products and brands you won't easily find elsewhere. We have our private furniture label and physical stores where you can experience the Bonami vibe firsthand. Beyond a diverse assortment, Bonami is full of inspiration. We shoot our own campaigns, collaborate with influencers, and thanks to Bonami's positive reputation, the most popular influencers in the market reach out to us themselves. We show that a home makeover doesn't require replacing all your furniture; sometimes one well-chosen original piece or a bold decoration is enough. More than a furniture e-shop

Bonami has long ceased to be just a furniture and home decor e-shop for end customers. We can furnish offices, cafes, equip a stage or a conference lounge, and we aren't afraid to explore and test new opportunities. For example, within three months, we launched collaborations with developers, which is growing successfully today. We have long-standing partnerships with designers, allowing our customers to use the "Bonami Interior Design" service. Now we're launching the "Designers club," aiming to offer designers various forms of collaboration, but also to connect, inspire, and host events for them. Simply put, to give them something extra.

Complex product and cutting-edge technology

At first glance, e-shop tech might seem monotonous, but the opposite is true. We don't know routine. Instead, there are plenty of opportunities to learn new things and constantly push boundaries. Both senior developers and juniors looking to improve will have a lot of fun here.

Bonami has long stopped being just an e-shop that we constantly tweak to be simple, fast, and intuitive for customers. We are an omnichannel service, meaning alongside our great e-shop, we have stores, a robust warehouse system, logistics, and back-office systems that fit perfectly together. We custom-built all of this. From the start, we've held the philosophy of fully implementing key parts of Bonami ourselves to keep everything under control. This allows us to react flexibly to various changes. Thanks to this, the developers working with us never have a dull moment. Within development, everyone can find areas they enjoy, or explore new technologies and approaches they want to master.

A healthy mix of seniority and young talent

In Dev and Product, we work with a mix of seniors and juniors. Some have been with us for years and were even there when Bonami was founded. Working alongside senior IT consultants with deep know-how is reflected in our work style and the discussions we have. At the same time, we also team up with university students and young people with huge potential. They bring a fresh perspective to Bonami, aren't afraid to try new technologies, and experiment with AI. What they value most about working with us is the opportunity to grow incredibly fast.

We ship goods to all countries from our Jeneč warehouse. We serve everywhere from Czechia through Italy and Croatia to the Baltic states, which is quite a hustle sometimes. But thanks to a great team and well-built logistics, we handle it all, and we still enjoy it.

When warehouse grows, everything grows

If we had a time-lapse documentary of the Bonami warehouse, it would be the most visible proof of the growth and development Bonami has gone through. We used to hold small items here and act as a transfer station; today we have tens of thousands of items, from mugs to sofas, leaving us for places like Italy or Hungary. But what you will find here all these years is well-managed logistics, a great team, and an atmosphere where it's great to work and where even the toughest logistical challenges can be easily handled thanks to the people.
