💜 ML Engineer

Work schedule
Full-time
Address
Křižíkova 148/34, Karlín, 186 00 Praha-Praha 8, Česko

The GLAMI Group is a fashion and technology company. We make technology a key component of our mission to delight both our customers and our partners. GLAMI AI team works with some of the largest datasets and state of the art Machine Learning (ML) models. Our biggest models are in Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (after all GLAMI is already present in 13 markets and we have global ambitions), and last but not least Recommendation models (we serve hundreds of millions of personalization requests each month). The team is responsible for the models from the research phase through development all the way to production. Currently, there are twelve ML Engineers on the team, two of whom specialize in MLOps - we have a lot of experience in bringing ML models to production.

🏋️‍♀️WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a motivated ML Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be helping us navigate the world of ML in the time of LLMs. We need to be able to decide confidently if we want to develop a model ourselves or if LLMs can do a better job at it. We want to deliver some agentic projects as well as continue the development of our models on some specific tasks. This role requires good knowledge of Python and Machine Learning experience. We will expect you to onboard onto an existing project and eventually lead a smaller team of ML Engineers.

📈THE MAIN CHALLENGE

1. Product Matching project:

  • We have developed a powerful algorithm for product matching that we are looking to improve and extend.
  • It is a computationally heavy task with n squared complexity.
  • The project involves vision, NLP and graph algorithms at the same time.
  • There are specific research tasks connected to it that we want to explore and perhaps bring into production.

2. Classification & LLMs:

  • We have developed advanced systems for text and image classification and are looking into integrating LLMs into our multimodal ML stack.
  • For this purpose we have developed an in-house categorization system, capable of classifying 1.5B items monthly.
  • Project has been with us for some time and has mature tools for deploying, monitoring, and tearing down models in AWS.
  • We are designing experiments to reduce the need for any manual work on our catalog.

✅ REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE…

  • Proficiency in English is required as GLAMI is international.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, related field, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience from an existing Machine Learning of Software project. Have you worked on some larger project that you can share?
  • Proficiency in Python is required, experience with Numpy and Pandas is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a start-up environment.
  • Proven ability to take ownership and work independently without micro management is required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

🦙 WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO…

  • Get involved in a global e-commerce scale-up, helping to build the future of online fashion with real impact and visibility.
  • Work alongside a friendly and driven Machine Learning team that values sharing insights, ideas, experience and knowledge.
  • Our MLOps Engineers will show you how to get your models into production smoothly and if you want, we are happy to share in detail how that is done with you.
  • Shape your own work - enjoy plenty of freedom in how you tackle problems, test new approaches, and challenge assumptions.
  • See your code and experiments go public - contribute to open-source projects, or get your work out there at conferences and in journals.
  • Benefit from 25 days of paid time off to relax and pursue your interests outside of work.
  • Access a dedicated learning budget for books, conferences, webinars, and other resources to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Stay healthy and active with a Multisport card, with the company covering 50% of the cost.
  • Take advantage of a team budget to foster connectivity and networking opportunities.
  • Experience our hybrid work model: spend 3 days per week in the office, with 2 days optional for remote or office work, and the possibility to work remotely from any location for extended periods.
  • Enjoy a variety of snacks and refreshments, including Polivkarna soups every Thursday.
  • Improve your English language skills with financial support for English classes.
  • Bring your furry friend to the office in Karlín, or enjoy spending time with other support animals who are part of our workspace.
